You did a fantastic job of mixing here, aside from a number of minor details that some career audio engineers wouldn't have even made. May I suggest though, your mix has a set of errors that commonly comes from mixing in only one or two sessions without "fatigue recovery time." It's important to sleep on a mix a few times(that is to say, leave it for a day or so and come back) as it will help give you a fresh mindset, the brain automatically makes tweaks in how it receives sound and does so very quickly, in the effort of "normalizing" input, this will automatically make errors less obvious and can be detrimental to the final product of a track if you don't manage how much time you spend mixing in a single run. I've noticed you mentioned "listening to the same song all day," try taking a break from the track after you do your premix and such, and come back with a mind of strictly delivering your composition in its best possible form. Well done, keep it up!

Thanks! I really appreciate any mixing advice. You're right, one night later and I can hear a few things I want to tweak now. I'll keep that in mind for my next song

Sounds pretty damn good. The clap is quite awful though, and the mixing could use some polish. Another thing I noticed is that you use excessive Highpass filtering on what sounds like the whole mix, if you're getting this from F-777, note that he typically does his master-HP transitions very quickly, or only HP's one or two instruments over a longer period of time to avoid it becoming fatiguing on the ear. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the review! Please keep in mind the only thing from F-777 was his style of complex melodies. The mixing and composition was DJVI style, with my own twist. I also agree that the mixing need work :). And I'm pretty sure the clap thing is just your opinion cuz it sounds fine to me...

Very well done, and quite different from the current trend of video game music. The ambient style of the instrument set fits incredibly well with the simplistic percussion you've created, and the structure is smooth, Giving way to the next instrument/synth in line without any abrupt shifts. The only issue I'd point out is that the repeated clicking sound is a tad bit too loud in the mix, it'd be perfect at 3-4 db lower than it currently is, it sounds fine, just too intrusive to the soundscape. I'll definitely be following your Newgrounds page! Keep up the good work.

Thank you, I do tend to go a different way with EVGM. I liked this song too and at first it was gonna be a rap song for one of my buddies but instead I preferred to keep the game genre going. I do agree with you that the clicking does intrude the song but I was using a preset that was set with it at the time and I couldn't find how to remove it. In a way the clicking resembles a clock-like sound. I'll check the preset again but other then that thank you and I'm glad that you enjoyed this piece ^V^
